Author Guidelines

  1. Originality of Submissions
    All submissions must be original works written in a clear and straightforward style. Manuscripts must not be under consideration for publication in any other journal.

  2. Title and Headings
    The title of each submission should be brief, attractive, and accurately describe the content of the paper. Headings and subheadings within the text should be concise, clear, and appropriately numbered using Arabic numerals.

  3. Language and Spelling
    British English spelling (not American spelling) should be used throughout the manuscript. Authors are advised to pay careful attention to grammatical accuracy, spelling, and clarity of expression.

  4. Manuscript Format
    Manuscripts must be typed in Microsoft Word format using Times New Roman for both the main text and footnotes. The formatting requirements are as follows:

    • Font size: 12-point for the main body

    • Font size: 10-point for automatically generated footnotes

    • Double line spacing for the main text

    • 1.5 page margins

    Manuscripts should be submitted as an email attachment to: ipojles@gmail.com.

    Footnotes must appear seriatim at the bottom of each page. Endnotes are not acceptable.

  5. Abstract and Keywords
    Each manuscript must be accompanied by:

    • An abstract of not more than 250 words

    • Five to six keywords

    • An introduction

    • A conclusion

  6. Author Information

    • For articles derived from completed postgraduate theses, the manuscript cover page must include:

      • Author’s name

      • Supervisor’s name and designation

      • Institutional affiliation

      • Contact phone numbers

      • Email address

    • For submissions by authors other than postgraduate students, the cover page should include only:

      • Author’s name

      • Designation

      • Institutional affiliation

      • Contact phone number

      • Email address

  7. Pagination
    Page numbers must be inserted at the bottom centre of each page.

  8. Peer Review and Review Fee
    All submitted articles and papers will undergo a blind peer-review process. Feedback from the review process will be communicated to contributors where appropriate.

    Any paper accepted for consideration will attract a review fee of ₦10,000 (Ten Thousand Naira) only.

  9. Editorial Rights and Citation Style
    The Editorial Committee reserves the right to make necessary changes to ensure conformity with the journal’s house style, including corrections to grammar, syntax, punctuation, spelling, ambiguity, illogical expressions, and redundancy.

    Authors must strictly adhere to either:

    • OSCOLA, or

    • The Nigerian Association of Law Teachers (NALT) Uniform Citation and Documentation Standards, available at naltng.org.

  10. Copyright
    Papers and other submissions are accepted on the understanding that exclusive copyright is assigned to the Ife Law Postgraduate Alumni Association. However, authors remain free to use the material contained in their papers in other works.

  11. Disclaimer
    The Editorial Board shall not be responsible for the views expressed by contributors.


Submission Deadline

The deadline for submission of articles and papers is 28th February 2026, allowing sufficient time for the review of submitted manuscripts.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.
